As the founder and President of The Art and Business of Writing Conference, http://www.theartandbusinessofwriting.com PJ's plans include helping authors develop a "business" savvy approach to their book campaign. Every author will benefit by learning how to interact with their publisher and navigate the publishing process. Authors will become experts at creating a successful book campaign.

Writer, P.J. Campbell is the Director of Events for a global trade publisher creating and supporting over 1600 annual author events. She is credited with the creation of BOOKSELLING FOR DUMMIES, (Wiley) a 10,000 print-run publication, distributed by the American Booksellers Association and Wiley.  PJ is the most knowledgeable and experienced author events’ Director throughout publishing, as she is employed by the first publisher to create an Events' Department which commenced with her hire January 1998. She is an expert in creating, marketing and publicizing author appearances, book launch parties, gala events, and executive presentations.

As an author on her own time, she has written articles for newspapers, magazines and web-sites on a variety of adult topics, including business, women's issues, motivation, sports, health, and art. Her interviews and articles have appeared in international/national magazines, local newspapers and online.

As a speaker, PJ is in demand to keynote and join panels in the publishing industry. Take a look at her "speaking gigs."

PJ interviewed fifteen artists from around the globe in conjunction with the 2004-2005 Adelphi University Biennial Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit in Garden City, NY and created a series of fourteen articles published by Garden City Life newspaper (http://www.antonnews.com/gardencitylife). As a result, hundreds of attendees viewed the exhibit and many attended the launch party.

PJ also has written and performed children’s stories for bookstores, schools, libraries and children’s parties. She was published in Young Rider national magazine (http://www.youngrider.com/) for her article, SISTERS IN THE SADDLE.

As an author consultant, PJ has created book proposals and marketing/press campaigns for a number of writers, artists, photo stylists, a production company, doctors and others. Based on her events’ work in the publishing industry and as a former bookstore General Manager and Director of Events, PJ knows how much an author can contribute to the success of their own book. In her bookstore position, she oversaw all aspects of promoting a given title through publicity, advertising, merchandising and author appearances.
